Wind energy investments may help Maryland reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and achieve its objective of 20% renewable energy by 2022 (Renewable Portfolio Standard)

Presentation includes:

• New net metering aggregation rules for municipalities, farms and non profits
• Challenges we face: net metering, financial incentives, ordinances and statewide information/communications resource sharing

PRESENTER:
Andrew Gohn is Acting Clean Energy Director for Maryland Energy Administration (MEA). Andrew works to develop and manage programs and policies that will accelerate deployment of wind energy technology in Maryland. He implements grant programs, works to facilitate permitting and regulatory processes for wind energy systems and is actively engaged in planning for offshore wind energy off of Maryland’s Atlantic coast. Andrew was the MEA staff-level policy adviser for the Maryland Offshore Wind Energy Act of 2011. Andrew has a J.D. and a certification in Environmental Law from the University of Maryland.
